A new Ninja-style gym has opened in Liverpool .
The fitness and activity centre near Sandhills train station on Birchall Street was set up by chemical engineer turned heavyweight Taekwondo fighter Henry Cookey.
The 31-year-old is originally from Milton Keynes but now lives in Everton .
Henry told the ECHO: "After working for four years as a chemical engineer in Liverpool, I left work to train full time in Taekwondo to try and qualify for the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
"Unfortunately I just missed out on selection in the end but I applied for the ITV show Ninja Warrior and reached the semi-final.
"Training for the show and actually being on it showed me how great this kind of training was, as it鈥檚 not only really effective but it鈥檚 also so much fun.
"So I decided I wanted to bring this to everyone - adults of all levels of ability and kids can have a go.
"People that want to go on for fun as well as people wanting to try or train for the Ninja Warrior show or obstacle races like Tough Mudder and Spartan Race can train in a safe environment."
Henry will be running open sessions where people can come and train as they like, coached sessions for different levels and age groups, adult and kids parties, stag and hen do events, team building events and all kinds of activities to get people having fun and improving their fitness.
