A popular West Derby pub has been given a £150,000 revamp including a new beer garden and TV screens.

The Hare and Hounds in West Derby will host a VIP reopening tomorrow at 5pm with a special celebration for the Grand National including a performance from a Michael Buble tribute act.

The makeover includes a revamped beer garden complete with under cover seating to keep the British weather at bay, stylish decor, local ales and craft beer - the investment has also created three new jobs.

The pub is introducing eight of the best HD screens, one projector and Sky and BT sports. Whether its horseracing, rugby or football all fans can be sure to receive uninterrupted live viewing, with table service during big games.

General manager Mary Rimmer told the ECHO: "Sports, community and great value have always been our mantra and that鈥檚 staying exactly the same.

"But you have to keep your eye on the ball to keep up to date so we have refreshed in time for the warmer months."

Three cask ale pumps have been added showcasing local ales such as Bombardier and Green Kings IPA accompanied by craft alternatives such as Hophouse 13.

They have also added seven new botanical gins, cocktails, a vast range of wines and barista made coffee to their offering.

At the weekend there will be DJs and live entertainment plus Monday night poker, Tuesday night sport, Wednesday night quiz and Thursday open mic night.
