You've heard of the Oscars, the 13½ inch, eight-and-a-half pound gold plated statuette which means you鈥檙e the most celebrated figure in the movie world.

On Tuesday May 9 Evertonians will be introduced to the Dixies - a similar style prize which will be presented to the leading figures at Everton Football Club in 2016/17.

The club鈥檚 End of Season awards, previously staged at St George鈥檚 Hall, are changing to a different format this season.

The inaugural 鈥楧ixies鈥?- prizes bearing the name of the club鈥檚 greatest ever player - will be presented at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.

And given Dixie Dean鈥檚 status as a working class hero and a true man of the people, the awards ceremony will have a more of a People鈥檚 Club feel with 1,300 tickets available for Evertonians to enjoy a two-hour awards show packed with entertainment.
