Everton starlet Tom Davues has been nominated for the European Golden Boy award for 2017.

The award has been run by Italian sports daily Tuttosport since 2003, with past winners including Liverpool's Raheem Sterling in 2014, Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and Mario Balotelli.

Davies, 18, has been rewarded for his rise to prominence at Goodison with a place on a talent-filled shortlist for the award, which recognises the best young player under 21 playing in Europe's top tier.

The Blues midfielder who scored against Leicester City on Sunday, is shortlisted alongside the likes of Marcus Rashford of Manchester United, Everton鈥檚 Tom Davies, Manchester City prodigy Gabriel Jesus, Monaco whizkid Kylian Mbappe, Ajax goal machine Kasper Dolberg and last season鈥檚 winner, Renato Sanchez of Bayern Munich.

Also nominated is Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic, as well as the American鈥檚 teammates Felix Passlack, Ousmane Dembele and Alexander Isak.

Luca Zidane, son of Real Madrid manager Zinedine, is on the list, along with Patrick Kluivert鈥檚 son Justin.

Davies last week signed a new five-year contract after an impressive breakthrough season at Goodison Park, when he has become a regular starter under Ronald Koeman.
