Danielle Lloyd has offered support to Mel B over allegations that her husband Stephen Belafonte was abusive during their ten year marriage.
Spice Girl Mel has accused Belafonte of abusive behaviour in court documents filed earlier this month.
Belafonte has strenuously denied the accusations, with his lawyer calling Mel B鈥檚 claims 鈥渙utrageous and unfounded鈥?and saying he鈥檚 confident the truth will come out in court.
But the saga has brought up memories for Liverpool model Danielle - after she suffered an abusive relationship for two years.
The 33-year-old said to Closer Magazine: "I know from past experience it is really difficult to leave an abusive relationship because you feel really controlled and manipulated by that person.
"She must have felt really scared to have stayed with him for so long - and it must have been really difficult to pluck up the courage to leave."
The pregnant mum-of-three said her past relationship haunts her, but that she's incredibly thankful she's now in a stable, loving relationship with electrician fiancé Michael O鈥橬eill.
She said: "It鈥檚 always there in the back of my mind and still scares me - I can鈥檛 trust people properly. Something like domestic violence tortures you every day."
Danielle said her advice to Mel B would be to undergo regular therapy sessions - something which helped her confront her fears.
Danielle said: "She needs to have lots of her family around supporting her, too, and calming her.
"I hope she can get through it, I feel for her."
Mel B filed for divorce from Belafonte this month, making allegations in her legal papers including Belafonte trying to block her seeing her dying father, physically striking her, delaying her getting medical treatment after an overdose, and getting the couple鈥檚 nanny pregnant.
Belafonte vehemently denied the allegations, saying: 鈥淪omeone鈥檚 set me up to look like a bad guy.?/p>
Mel B was granted a temporary restraining order against Belafonte, the father of her daughter Madison, five, until April 24.
