He鈥檚 invested in two Liverpool icons ?and Farhad Moshiri also has business links with some of the most famous brands on Earth from Uber to the Disney Channel.
The Iranian-born billionaire took a 49.9% stake in Everton FC in February 2016.
And this week it was revealed that he was part of a consortium that bought Liverpool鈥檚 world-famous Royal Liver Building.
Forbes estimates the chartered accountant is now worth $2.3bn. So what are some of his other business interests?
Mr Moshiri owns 10% of USM Holdings and is chairman of its board of directors.
The website of USM company Metalloinvest says: 鈥淎lisher Usmanov is the major beneficiary of USM Holdings (49%), with other major beneficiaries ?the companies of Vladimir Skoch and Farhad Moshiri ?owning 30% and 10%, respectively.?/p>
USM was founded by Uzbek/Russian tycoon Alisher Usmanov, today one of the richest men in the world and a shareholder in Arsenal FC. He made his money through metal and mining investments, for which USM is best known.
Mr Moshiri and Mr Usmanov have been friends and business partners for years.
USM interests now stretch much further into the worlds of technology, social media, and entertainment.
Heavy metal football
Those metal companies might not sound glamorous but they鈥檙e worth a lot of money.
Let鈥檚 take just one of those USM companies, Metalloinvest, which Mr Moshiri used to chair.
The metals giant supplies steel and iron ore products around the world.
Its website says it is the largest iron ore company in Russia and the former Soviet Union. And it鈥檚 the world鈥檚 largest manufacturer of 鈥渉ot briquetted iron鈥? a type of iron pellet than can be used to make steel.
It owns two Rusian steel mills, two iron ore production sites, and the giant Ural Scrap Company.
Last month Metalloinvest reported sales of $4.3bn (£3.4bn) for 2016, with an EBITDA (profit) figure of $1.26bn (£1bn).
USM also owns the Baikal Mining Company, which controls Russia鈥檚 largest copper reserves.
USM鈥檚 website says the company is 鈥渁 prominent global investor in the digital space鈥?
It has stakes in companies including Uber, Spotify and Airbnb, as well as e-commerce giant Alibaba and Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi.
USM also manages UTH Russia, which it says is 鈥渙ne of the country鈥檚 largest media and entertainment groups鈥?
Its portfolio in Russia and Kazakhstan includes the Disney Channel.
Staying in touch
USM also controls Russian telecoms firm MegaFon. That company is in turn the majority shareholder in Russian internet giant Mail.Ru.
Mail.Ru is behind Russia鈥檚 most popular social networks VKontakte and Odnoklassniki.
Mr Moshiri鈥檚 biography on the USM website says he was once a board member at MegaFon and Mail.Ru.
