The new Sainsbury鈥檚 on Great Homer Street is set to open on Wednesday, May 31, and the latest batch of jobs will soon be released.

On Wednesday, April 12, a total of 45 new roles at the North Liverpool store will go online on the Sainsbury鈥檚 jobs website.

There are vacancies for checkout assistants and general assistants, as well as roles in customer services.

Applicants should be alert to the fact that the supermarket only allows two people to apply for each vacancy before it closes, and the first batch of jobs released last month went very quickly.

Though Sainsbury鈥檚 couldn鈥檛 give an exact time, the firm said the jobs would go online during the day, rather than at midnight.

The 45 positions on offer form part of an overall 220 new jobs created at the 40,000 sq ft Great Homer Street site.

Some 25 roles have been set aside for the long-term unemployed. These candidates will be given training in customer service and interview skills before applying for a selection of roles.

The new store, which forms part of the Project Jennifer regeneration, will have a cafe, clothing range and an Argos concession.

On Monday to Saturday, the shop will be open from 8am to 10pm. On Sunday, hours are restricted from 10am to 4pm.
