Motorists are advised that Forest Road, St Helens, is temporarily closed due to a suspected gas leak.
Residents in the nearby area are advised to keep all windows and doors closed.

Huyton accident update

INRIX have added following the accident -

A57 Liverpool Road in both directions closed, very slow traffic at A526 Seth Powell Way.

Accident in Huyton

Merseyside Police have confirmed they were called to the scene of an accident at 3:25pm this afternoon. The accident occurred at the junction of Seth Powell Way and Liverpool Road. Two vehicles were involved, a Mini Cooper and a Ford C-Max. An ambulance attended the scene but injuries are not believed to be serious. The area of road around Woolfall Heath is closed and motorists are therefore advised to avoid the area.

Traffic update - Woodchurch Road

A552 Woodchurch Road Westbound busy but moving from B5151 Storeton Road (Halfway House Traffic Lights) to M53 (Woodchurch Roundabout). Travel time is six minutes.

Man charged over murder of Vikki Louise Hull

Detectives investigating the murder of Vikki Louise Hull in Speke on Sunday have charged a man with murder today, Tuesday 11 April.

31-year-old Mark Geoffrey Mahoney from Heaton Close in Speke was kept in custody to appear in court.

'I broke my ankle but was too fat for crutches'

Bus bursts into flames on M6

Warning if your journey takes you this way. The M6 is currently closed southbound after a double-decker bus burst into flames.

The motorway is completely closed between junction 17, for Sandbach, and junction 16, for Crewe while the fire is being extinguished.

Firefighters from Cheshire fire were called to the scene at 10.55am.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that nobody was injured in this incident. It says all persons have been accounted for.

Racist mum sank teeth into taxi driver

A racist mum-of-two sank her teeth into a taxi driver’s finger – just weeks after biting another victim’s hand.

Sarah McIntyre, 33, of Wellington Road, Wavertree, bit Kacem Mehouen while her mum filmed the attack on her phone.

The bite, which broke his little finger, came after McIntyre punched the driver and called him an “Egyptian c***”.
