One of Britain鈥檚 first 鈥榰rban glamping鈥?sites is opening in Liverpool city centre this summer.

Visitors can check out the city鈥檚 stunning skyline while staying in luxury tipi tents on the Shankly Hotel rooftop.

Hotel operator Signature Living claims there鈥檒l be a plush two-tier garden, bar service - and even a swimming pool for groups to rent out.

鈥楪lamping鈥?- combining the words glamorous and camping - is increasingly popular, but this could be the first such rooftop 鈥榰rban鈥?experience.

The tipis will each house up to four people, and will be well-equipped and comfortable, according to Signature Living.

The firm said the unique accommodation will be ideal for people who want a 鈥渢aste of the great outdoors and panoramic views of the Liverpool skyline鈥?

The campsite launches at the end of June, and will be available to hire throughout the summer. It can be booked by large groups who can use the entire rooftop area, which comes complete with a bar and personal waiter service.

This development is only the latest expansion in Signature Living鈥檚 hotel portfolio. Just last week, the Shankly Hotel launched twelve new suites.

Last year, their properties attracted more than 200,000 visitors.

Founder Lawrence Kenwright said: 鈥淲e are really excited to be bringing luxury glamping to Liverpool this summer.

鈥淪ignature Living is known for doing things differently - tipis at the Eden rooftop garden is certainly something different.

鈥淣owhere else will people be able to go camping amidst the city鈥檚 tallest buildings with incredible views of our skyline. This is not only going to be popular in Liverpool, I am sure this unique concept will also attract even more visitors to the city.?/p>

The company said more announcements about the Shankly would be coming soon, with family events and mini-festivals planned.

Prices for the 鈥榞lampsite鈥?haven鈥檛 been confirmed as yet.
