The Home Office is recruiting civil servants in Bootle to make decisions on asylum seeker applications.
In total, there are 140 jobs up for grabs, with a salary of between £23,330 and £26,831.
The jobs, based in Bootle鈥檚 Redgrave Court, are in the UK Visas & Immigration Directorate.
The roles, on 12 to 18 month fixed term contracts, require working 37 hours per week.
Among the duties are conducting asylum interviews to exacting standards, gathering all necessary information, and then making informed decisions while demonstrating sensitivity.
The application listing warns that the nature of the work - helping people at a time of crisis in their lives - can be emotionally challenging.
It says: 鈥淲e expect the highest possible standards of professionalism and teamwork from our staff.
鈥淵ou would be required to operate in sometimes difficult, complex, traumatic and pressurised environments.

No experience of visas and immigration is necessary, but applicants will need to be fast learners.
