Directly south of the city centre Dingle was the only underground stop on the Liverpool Overhead Railway. Dingle檚 terraced streets were made famous by the 1980s Carla Lane sitcom Bread. One local landmark is the Grade II-listed Florence Institute for Boys, fondly known as The Florrie, officially reopened by Prince Charles in January 2013. Comedian Arthur Askey was born in Moses Street, Dingle.
